Estimates, small jobs, and service areas
- Do you take small welding jobs?
- Yes. Mailbox posts, chair repairs, a single broken picket, a hitch, a missing scroll. If another shop said it was too small, call Richard at (615) 630-1840.
- How do I get a quote?
- Call Richard at (615) 630-1840, email richarnold2000@gmail.com, or use the estimate form. Include a photo or sketch if you have one. He'll talk through the job with you and arrange a visit if measurements are needed, then provide an estimate.
- Do you come to my property?
- Yes, we offer mobile welding across Williamson, Davidson, Rutherford and Hamilton counties. Tell Richard where the job is and what needs repairing so he can check availability.

- Who owns 3D Custom Welding?
- Richard Arnold owns and runs 3D Custom Welding LLC in Franklin, Tennessee. He's a veteran, and you'll speak directly with him about your project.
- Does 3D Custom Welding serve Nashville and Chattanooga?
- Yes. Our office is in Franklin and we work in Nashville, Brentwood, Murfreesboro, Chattanooga, and Ooltewah. Chattanooga jobs are scheduled on set install days.
- Is 3D Custom Welding licensed and insured?
- Yes. 3D Custom Welding LLC is licensed and insured. Estimates are free. If a weld is wrong, we come back and fix it.
- Where is your office located?
- 400 Chatsworth Ct, Franklin, TN 37064. Most jobs are done at your property. This is our office, not a public storefront, so please call ahead before stopping by.
Materials and welding process
- What welding processes do you use?
- We use MIG, TIG and stick welding, depending on the job. Richard also offers laser welding and laser cleaning where suitable.
- What metals do you weld?
- Steel, wrought iron, stainless steel and aluminum. Richard chooses the welding method to suit the metal and the repair.
Metal Staircases
- How much does a custom steel staircase cost in Franklin, TN?
- The size, shape, step material, railings and finish all affect the price. Send Richard a sketch or photo of the space. He'll arrange a visit if measurements are needed and give you a free estimate before you decide.
- Do you install interior and exterior stairs?
- Yes. Interior stairs for houses and offices, and exterior steel stairs for porches, decks, and commercial entries. Exterior steel gets a coating that holds up in Tennessee weather.
Metal Railings & Handrails
- Can you repair wrought iron railings instead of replacing them?
- Often, yes. Richard checks the condition of the metal first. A broken weld or loose post may be repairable; a badly rusted section may need replacing.
- What if my railing needs a permit or inspection?
- Tell Richard about any permit, inspection or building-plan requirements before the work is agreed. Send any drawings or written requirements you already have so they can be discussed with the job.
- Can you fit a railing to my existing steps?
- Yes. We measure your steps and make the railing sections to fit. A photo of the full staircase helps Richard understand the layout before a visit.
Decks & Steel Frames
- Do you build the whole deck or just the metal frame?
- Either one. We build steel frames, all-metal decks, and wood decks on custom steel framing when the job needs both.
- How do I choose between a steel and wood frame?
- Ask Richard to talk through the options for your deck. The layout, finish, upkeep and budget all matter. We'll explain what is included in the estimate so you can compare it with other options.
Custom Metalwork
- Do you take small custom jobs?

- Can I bring a part to you?
- Call Richard first to arrange it. Our Franklin address is an office, not a walk-in shop. You can send a photo before making the trip.
Fence Installation & Repair
- Do you repair an existing fence or only install new ones?
- Both. If the posts and panels are still sound we repair and re-weld rather than replace the whole fence. If it is beyond that, we install new aluminum or wrought iron.
- Do you build gates to match an existing fence?
- Yes. Send a photo of the fence and the opening. Richard will discuss how closely the design and finish can be matched.
Mobile Welding
- Do you offer mobile welding in Nashville and Franklin?
- Yes. Our office is in Franklin. We weld on site in Williamson, Davidson, Rutherford, and Hamilton counties, including Nashville, Brentwood, Murfreesboro, and Chattanooga.
- Can you help with an urgent repair?
- Call Richard at (615) 630-1840 and explain what's broken and where it is. He'll let you know his availability. We don't offer a 24-hour emergency service.
